London, United Kingdom, April 30th 2014 – L’Oréal SA announces today the finalisation of the acquisition of Decléor and Carita, formerly held by the Shiseido group, as well as the appointment of Delphine Viguier-Hovasse as General Manager of Decléor and Carita International. Delphine Viguier-Hovasse has had a remarkably successful career and has demonstrated entrepreneurial and brand development qualities throughout her 17 years in the group.
Decléor and Carita are from now integrated into the L'Oréal Professional Products Division which completes its brand portfolio in order to become a complete player in the professional beauty market. L’Oréal Professional Products are now present in the three professional beauty markets: haircare, for more than 100 years, nail care and colour, through the Essie brand, and now face and body care with Carita and Decléor.
An Verhulst-Santos, President of L’Oréal’s Professional Products Division, said, “This acquisition is a wonderful opportunity for our Division, which will become a major player in this strategic professional beauty market very complementary to hair salons.”
Decléor’s expertise in aromatherapy, Carita’s legendary products, and both brands’ holistic approach to beauty, are extraordinary strengths. Professional skincare services, like professional haircare services provided by hairdressers, place great importance on advice, technical training in academies, personalised relationships with clients but also, and above all, on the talents and expertise of individual beauty experts and hairdressers, who add value and highlight the difference in working with a professional.
The Decléor and Carita business in the UK will continue to be led by Carolyn Taylor, Managing Director, Decléor (UK) Limited, reporting to Kenneth Campbell, Managing Director of L’Oréal’s Professional Products Division UK&I.
Carolyn said, “We are delighted to be part of the L’Oreal Professional Division; this acquisition will allow Decléor and Carita to flourish and marks the start of a new exciting Era for both brands.”
